#OccupationIsACrime We stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Panel On Palestine. Art By: Danya Zituni

We stand in solidarity as our hearts ache for every life lost in Palestine and Israel. The ongoing events in and around Gaza are deeply rooted in a history of violence, stemming from Israel's oppressive occupation, expansionist colonialism, and military blockade. As AfroResistance, we condemn these actions and affirm our support for justice, peace, and freedom for all.

The current events we are witnessing are a direct outcome of the catastrophic consequences of ethnic cleansing, over five decades of military occupation, and a 16-year-long blockade in Gaza. These adversities have been endured by the Palestinian people for 75 years. These actions have created an apartheid system and have led to a deeply troubling surge in violence and injustice.

The actions of Israeli military forces and settler violence have inflicted immense suffering, extending beyond home invasions and demolitions. They include the desecration of holy sites, land confiscation, water appropriation, settlement expansion, uprooting and destruction of sacred symbols, such as olive tree groves, as well as violent attacks on entire villages and communities. Unfortunately, such occurrences have become alarmingly frequent. In the past years, the Israeli military has ended the lives of hundreds of Palestinians, including innocent children, women, and men, as well as unjustly imprisoned many Palestinians.

We call upon every conscious and compassionate human being who believes in justice, equity, and love to demand the immediate protection of Palestinians' human rights, including their right to safety, dignity, and self-determination. We further call for the international recognition of Palestinian sovereignty over their territory; by doing so, we pave the way for a future marked by peaceful coexistence and mutual respect, embodying the essence of our shared humanity.

In Justice and solidarity while holding complexities,

The Afroresistance team
